Free Guy, the red-hot movie about a sentient NPC named Guy (Ryan Reynolds), features a distribute of Easterly eggs and cameos. However, in that respect's ane in particular that comes to beware as being pretty major – if you've seen the picture, you'll know which one we mean.
GamesRadar+ spoke to director Ted Shawn Levy, who told us exactly how the cameo came about. However, before we dive into our chew the fat, here's your indispensable spoiler warning. Scroll on at your ain risk.
Unfreeze Guy's climactic setting sees Guy rope face off against Dude – he's just like Guy, simply a good deal bigger (and without a fully formed brain). The developers of Free City have conveyed Dude in to stop Guy from exposing the fact that the game contains plagiarised code, and Guy is left to face him alone. If that wasn't enough imperativeness, Guy's whole ordeal is being streamed, and the total world is watching.
Luckily, Guy has a whole armory of picture weapons at his disposal, from a lightsaber to the Rainbow Smash pickaxe from Fortnite – and, for a moment, Maitre d' America's harbor. And who should ascertain this moment? Only Captain America himself, Chris Evans.
"I guess I'll say that we always knew that the third act was going to be Guy leveling equal to a point where he could access whatsoever tools, any weapons. And, phenomenally, we got permit to manipulation a couple of picture weapons in Free Guy, and those are close to of the best surprises in store for audiences," Levy explains.
"Once we got a reliable artillery from a certain franchise, we realized that, 'Wait a second, the actor associated with that weapon happens to Be functioning on another project in the said city that we were motion-picture photography in.'
